WHAT WE’VE ACHIEVED

From the moment Sam took his oath of office, he began working to pass legislation to make District 5 neighborhoods better. When Sam created a dedicated source of funding for environmental projects through the 1% For The Environment ordinance, leading climate activists said it was the first program of its kind in the country!

In early 2020, Sam introduced the Vision Zero program as a way to make our roads safer and more pedestrian friendly. The federal government has since allocated $5 billion of funding for Vision Zero projects. Toledo is well positioned to receive those dollars, proving the need for forward-thinking leadership at the local level.
